He's Got It!Matt is done with Driver's Education and is now in possession of an OFFICIAL Military OKINAWAN DRIVER'S LICENSE!! Yikes!
Unfortunately (Fortunately??), it still means he can only drive on BASE until he is 18 years old.
He received one of the new licenses- it is similar to a credit card. Our licenses are huge laminated cards. Apparently, they had a system which produced these nice cards like Matt has....but they didn't pay their bills and so they shut down the system. They just got it back. When the guy told us this I thought they had been using it for a couple weeks or months...but apparently Monday was the first day back on the system. One of Matt's friends had gone in on Friday for his license and he got one of the large cruddy laminated cards.
To say the least, Matt is thrilled to now be a licensed driver!
